Ventilation:

These are used to bring in filtered air from the outside into your heating and cooling system, while exhausting the air from in your Staten Island home. The construction of our homes is getting tighter and allowing for fewer natural air exchanges. This allows the air in our homes to become stale and lowers the quality of the air. Bringing fresh air in keeps the quality of the air in our homes where it should be and gives a noticeable difference to any home. When the air is brought in through an ERV the heat and humidity are transferred efficiently into the incoming air so that you keep most of the humidity and heat in your home.

These help to lower VOC levels in your home. VOCs, or volatile organic compounds, are considered a leading threat to our health today and the more 'efficient' we make our homes the higher these levels usually are.
