Ice On Your AC Is Never Good

That said, if your AC has gotten icy, it isn’t going to be a good thing for your comfort. We know that might sound counterintuitive but hear us out.

In most cases, the formation of ice is going to signal that things are really cold (ice in your freezer’s ice tray is exactly what you want during summer). And it is true that the ice in your AC is an indicator that the air is extremely cold. The problem here is that you don’t benefit from any of that cold air because it won’t ever reach you. Ice on your evaporator coil is actually going to hinder or comfort this summer not help it. We’ll explain why and tell you what to do about it.
