Our C/A stopped functioning yesterday. We called Bob Mims and, since we have a service contract with them, a technician was sent over within an hour of our call. At this time of the summer, and in the late afternoon when we called, that was AMAZING!
The technician changed the filter and suspected that the system had 'frozen'. He suggested we change the filter monthly in order to prevent this from occurring. He told us to keep the C/A off for a few hours and another technician would come in the morning to check for other potential causes.
As promised, another technician arrived on time this morning to check the whole system. Everything is working perfectly now. Joshua, yesterday's technician, had correctly assessed the problem and his recommendations for correcting the issue worked perfectly. Glenn, today's technician, was equally good. He thoroughly checked over the entire system to make certain there were no other problems.
Joanne, who we usually speak to when we call, was also her professional, efficient and excellent self.
We've been using Bob Mims for several decades for all our HVAC needs and we are very happy and impressed with the high quality of their service and their professionalism. That includes their technicians, the office support staff who field calls, and the management/owners.
In recent years, we've chosen to purchase their maintenance contract each year and find it worth the cost. Bob Mims may not be the cheapest HVAC company out there, but if you're looking for an excellent and reliable HVAC company who gets the job done, who stands behind their work, and who treats their customers well, then this would be a great company to do business with.

Today, 11/25/2024, Mike G. did the semi-annual maintenance check for our HVAC contract. Excellent and professional job as always. He even offered to change the batteries on our thermostat.

Anthony D. checked the freon level and pressure for our C/A and determined that the outdoor unit just needed a thorough cleaning. Very honest and excellent technician! He also readjusted our thermostat setting. Great attitude and a pleasure to deal with :))

Today Saturday 8/16/25
Last night, the brand new C/A system that was installed about 3 weeks ago, completely stopped working. A message on the thermostat read: SYSTEM FAULT. We called and left a message with Bob, their new A.I. 'employee' who set up an appointment for this morning. Fortunately, Anthony D., one of Bob Mim's BEST HVAC technicians, arrived in the morning. He methodically spent time diagnosing possible causes. He determined that the drain pan in the attic had filled up, triggering the cut-off switch to prevent overflow. The line leading out of there should have been cleared out when we
had our maintenance done in April and when the new unit was installed 3 weeks earlier. Anthony D. cleared the line, checked the freon level ( to be certain there were no other issues), and got our system working perfectly again:)). He also suggested that we consider surge protectors for the unit.
Anthony D. is not only a phenomenal technician, he is also a pleasure to deal with!! As always, we appreciate how Bob Mims stands behind their work and promptly responds whenever there is a problem.

We are thankful for his recommendation and the excellent work he does. In the recent past, Anthony also diagnosed a clog in the system that temporarily shut it down. He is very thorough and explains everything clearly to us.

9/9/2025: We had a surge protector installed today for our new central air conditioning system to prevent damage should the house sustain a lightening strike. Anthony D. was the tech who did the work and, as always, it was a pleasure to have him service our equipment. He was the one who initially recommended that we consider adding the surge protector and, after doing our research, we realized how important it was to protect the expensive unit. We are thankful for his recommendation and the excellent work he does. In the recent past, Anthony also diagnosed a clog in the system that temporarily shut it down. He is very thorough and explains everything clearly to us. GREAT technician!
One of the reasons we have been using Bob Mims HVAC for over 40 years is the quality of the work they do, the excellent and well trained technicians they have, how they stand behind their products, and how they are consistently available to address problems when they occur.

Our C/A stopped working this morning. We have a service contract with Bob Mims, so we called to make an appointment to have it fixed. Angela, the excellent office rep, told us that George M. will be there within 1 hour. George M. has serviced our C/A in the past and is very good. He texted us when he was on his way and came on time and fixed the problem. Bob Mims is a dependable and excellent company for all our HVAC needs. We've been using them for over 30 years and have been very satisfied with their professional level of service.
This morning, another C/A system in another house we own needed a repair. Glenn texted us that he was on his way. When he arrived, he diagnosed the problem and was able to repair it.
Excellent service as always from this dependable company.
